Sonnenborgh observatory
What nowadays is a museum for the universe, once life and death where the key themes. The Sonneborgh stronghold played played a major role in the 16th and 17th centuries in defending the city of Utrecht. In the 19th century Professor Buys Ballot founded an astronomical and meteorological observatory here. Today the Sonnenborgh is a public observatory and a museum of meteorology and astronomy as well as a historical bastion.
