Leag Twig Thorn razor –

This report is about using the Razolution double edge razor blade in the Leaf Twig and Leaf Twig thorn razors. One double edge razor blade, cut in two, tested for characteristics and longevity in these two marvelous razors.

Monday July 28

Leaf Twig – This morning, I shaved with this blade for the first time. It was a great shave—smooth result with no irritation. The blade is sharp, and I could shave effortlessly.

Wednesday July 30

Leaf Twig Thorn – Today, I used the other side of this blade in my shaving routine with the Leaf Twig Thorn. As expected with the Leaf Twig Thorn, the shave was somewhat more aggressive and slightly less smooth. Overall, though, it was still a good shaving experience and delivered a solid BBS result.

Comparing the two shaves using these two slightly different razors but the same blade, I have a slight preference for the regular Leaf Twig, as it provides a marginally smoother experience. I don’t immediately notice the added benefit of the ‘Thorn’ variant, even though it’s also a very decent little razor.

Monday August 4

Leaf Twig – second round for this razor and blade combination. Again a pleasant experience although already I am beginning to notice a little less smoothness and a little more drag. Probably due to the use of the half blade = more load on the blade during the shave than when using the two halves in a regular double edge razor.

Wednesday August 6

Leaf Twig Thorn – second round for this razor and blade combination. Again an ok shaving experience, but I do already notice some tugging, the same observation as with the normal Leaf Twig. I will give the blades a third run next week but suspect I might to pop another blade shortly.

Monday August 11

Leaf Twig – third round for this razor and blade combination and still going strong! Actually the experience today was more pleasant than the second round last week. A nice smooth shave.

Wednesday August 13

Leaf Twig Thorn – Third round for this razor and blade combination and although the shave was ok, tugging was more present now, especially in the areas with ore tough hair like moustache and chin. So this the last shave for this blade in this razor.

Friday August 15

Leaf Twig – fourth round for this razor and blade combination and still kind of ok! But here tugging is definitely present in the more difficult areas now, so after 4 rounds it is time to go for a new blade/razor combination here too.
